Who is on the left?

[edit]

Can anyone identify the editor on the File:O3ymf8twesjq7r01tji0a418j0vqfpg.jpg left? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.177.189.205 (talk) 00:35, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's not necessarily a real editor, since it's a joke. It's probably User:The_undertow or one of his/her friends. He/She will know who it is, but might not tell you. AlmostReadytoFly (talk) 15:18, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I know. But I'm not telling. --Jayron32 20:06, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Top Gear

[edit]

I've only seen about a dozen episodes of Top Gear and really like the show. I've been wondering though... Have any of the three guys ever failed a challenge and resorted to driving the much dreaded Volkswagen Beetle? And just out of curiosity, is there anywhere online, other than the iTunes store, where I can download/view episodes? I've been getting my episodes from iTunes but they only have a couple seasons/series. Dismas|(talk) 01:00, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I found this pretty quick: http://www.casttv.com/shows/top-gear --Ghostexorcist (talk) 04:33, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Only once, to my memory, have they had to use a backup car; one of the most recent episodes. All I can remember is something about snow. Then a piano landed on it. It's not been on Dave yet... Vimescarrot (talk) 05:54, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah James May had to use a car owned by Carla Brunai or someone like that to compete in a snow circuit race as his car didn't cope with the conditions or something... It wasn't a Beetle that time, but another type of car that has a cult following and the owners club complain whenever they use it as they always ridicule it...
And yes, they dropped a piano on it again... Gazhiley (talk) 10:14, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Morris Marina? --TammyMoet (talk) 10:23, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It was indeed... Can you remember who owned it previously tho? It was some famous woman... Gazhiley (talk) 12:09, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! And "Dave"?? Dismas|(talk) 10:25, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
"Dave" is a cable channel on freeview, sky, VM etc that used to be UKTVgold2 back in the day... They are basically a BBC repeat channel, although independantely owned as far i know... The show pretty much wall to wall bbc shows from the past year or so, and often multiple episodes back to back - Top gear is a regularly shown programme, often with about 4 episodes a day... There is a page on Wikipedia but i can't remember how to link to it - It's called "Dave (Tv Channel)" Gazhiley (talk) 11:37, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Dave it is. It was either the wife of the president of France or the wife of the president of the Morris Marina Owners' Club (French branch, presumably) that owned it previously. I believe it was left deliberately vague for humour; decide for yourself which is most likely. Vimescarrot (talk) 14:57, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah! I see. Thanks again. Dismas|(talk) 15:19, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
"Cable channel on freeview"? Freeview is digital terrestrial radio, cable is TV through fibre optic cables - you can't have a cable channel on freeview, that's a contradiction in terms. --Tango (talk) 22:54, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, it is a contradiction but there are a lot of US members/readers of this board, and in the US the types of channels that Dave falls under are referred to as cable channels, so I wanted to make it understandable to everyone... Plus I got Cable so to me it's a cable channel! Gazhiley (talk) 09:05, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese/Japanese Horror Film from the 80's

[edit]

I am trying to find out the title of a film I saw as a young child. It is chinese or japanese in orgin, and was about (possibly Geisha) branding the backs of their hands with the mark of the devil...I only caught about a minute of the film but it has bothered me ever since! Really would like to find out the film title so I can watch it and hopefully get over my fear! Sad I know! Can anyone help? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.12.141.56 (talk) 09:36, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
