Dance Nation Live
[edit]What is a live arena tour?96.53.149.117 (talk) 05:39, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- A concert tour that takes place in arenas, which are typically large indoor buildings (smaller than stadiums, but bigger than theatres) built for major concerts and other entertainments. --Richardrj talk email 08:26, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Typically, in North America, an arena is a building used for ice hockey and basketball games. Seating will vary from a few thousands to 20,000 for the larger ones in concert configuration. --Xuxl (talk) 14:34, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- And here I was picturing a "live arena", which, Transformers-style, get's up and walks to the next city after the concert ends, leaving a trail of destruction behind it. :-) StuRat (talk) 18:27, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Before iTunes store, and other download media, how did Billboard, and tv countdown shows, or just music video show charts (you know?), and other charts like ARIA charts, calculate the placing of songs?96.53.149.117 (talk) 12:42, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Late 80's // early 90's children's TV show broadcast in FL (and possibly elsewhere in the US) hosted by leggy foreign beauty in go-go boots?
[edit]I'm trying to recall the name of the above. I was quite young at the time, and it wasn't on TV long. Details I can remember:
- she nearly always wore very high boots - she had a noticeable foreign accent when she spoke - it was a childrens TV show similar to Bozo the Clown or other silly things - her name was a double name (like "BoBo") with an odd spelling - perhaps X's or Z's
It's long since been lost to the nether regions of my brain. Can you help? Just curious if anyone else saw the darn thing...61.189.63.137 (talk) 13:22, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- Xuxa. The only reason I remember is because back in college in the 90's, one of my good friends had a huge poster of her in his apartment. :-) --Zerozal (talk) 13:29, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- So you would be meaning Xuxa (TV series). I've added a hatnote to point to that. --Anonymous, 21:58 UTC, April 3, 2009.
- I don't believe that normally plays on US TV, as it's considered too sexual for a children's show. However, it might show up on Spanish language stations, especially in regions with a large Hispanic population, like Miami. BTW, The Simpsons did a spoof of her show in the episode where they went to Brazil. StuRat (talk) 18:16, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- They most definitely showed some version of Xuxa's show in North America, in the mid 90's it was aired on Fox network stations and advertised as a kids' show. Poechalkdust (talk) 11:41, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- I never saw that on the Fox station in Detroit, so it must not have been nationwide. Do you live in a city with a large Hispanic population ? Also, you said North America. Does Fox have stations in Canada and Mexico ? StuRat (talk) 15:34, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- I remember seeing it as a kid. I'm not sure if it was Fox produced or if it just aired in syndication on Fox affiliates (which often had blocks of children's programming at this time). It was definitely not the original Brazilian show, but an adaptation of it. I live in an area that had a negligible Hispanic population at the time. Tomdobb (talk) 19:06, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- Did they tone down the sexual content from the Brazil version ? StuRat (talk) 20:47, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Need to identify 2 different movies by scenes
[edit]- Science-fiction movie about robots or something, takes place in the future. There is a scene with a stunning blonde girl fully nude on an Orange cone and someone watching her in the TV. I assume this movie is from the early 90's.
- Horror film about vampires. There is a scene with a blonde girl fully nude. I assume this movie is from the early 90's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.250.111.131 (talk) 15:43, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- please take no offense by my kind humor...but a science fiction movie with robots that takes place in the future...and a horror movie with nudity? Wow, that really narrows down the possibilities! :-) The orange cone does sound somewhat familiar though. cheers, 10draftsdeep (talk) 16:38, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't really watch those movies. All I remember from them are those two scenes. I guess that someone who watch them will be able to identify them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.250.111.131 (talk) 17:54, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

- The SF one might be Saturn 3; I seem to remember Harvey Keitel watching Farrah Fawcett surreptitiously on TV, although I don't remember any orange cones. 87.115.166.150 (talk) 18:43, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks but this is not the movie. In the movie I'm looking there was a full frontal nudity and the girl was younger. I thinks there was a man who was zipping TV channels and he watched her on a TV porn channel. Not sure about that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.250.108.16 (talk) 19:55, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- From memory, most horror films about Vampires have female nudity in them. Have you tried Vampyros Lesbos?91.109.199.184 (talk) 21:42, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks but this is not the movie. The movie was form the 90's or 80's, there was a full frontal nudity. As far as I know both films were not erotic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.138.142.182 (talk) 12:11, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Full frontal and not erotic? Who was in these films? Roseanne Barr and Danny DeVito? Clarityfiend (talk) 03:00, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

- Could the vampire one be The Forsaken (film)? zafiroblue05 | Talk 00:00, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- No, it's an older film. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.132.78.175 (talk) 13:21, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- It's might be Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, but I think it's not the same blonde. [1]. In second thought it's not this film - the blonde looks different. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.132.78.175 (talk) 13:51, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Television commercial with comment something like: "You didn't go and do anything stupid like get married did you?"
[edit]Television commercial from early 1990's or possibly 1985 - 1990 set in an Italian restaurant... might be a commercial for a pizza chain... guy runs into girl he went to school with when they were both kids -- she's sitting down at table or booth... now they are all grown up and he is completely overwhelmed with how stunning [pretty/beautiful] she looks... commercial breaks from scene in restaurant to segment which indicates who the commercial is for, then returns back to scene in restaurant... he makes comment something like: "You didn't go and do anything stupid like get married did you?" to which she replies by only making a smile (indicating that she didn't get married) -- one of the best smiles I've ever seen on television... and that's how the commercial ends...
anyone know anything about this commercial, who it was for, where i can find it, name of actess, etc...? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.39.202.197 (talk) 16:04, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Agent/Publicist/Manager Database
[edit]Does anyone know of an agent/publicist database for actors, filmmakers and other personalities?(Public) I'm trying to find out who is representing whom and how to contact them. Thanks! --75.24.103.14 (talk) 17:15, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- You might like to try the 'professional' database of the IMDB. It's public but not free, though I think you can get a free trial. DJ Clayworth (talk) 21:15, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
I was hoping for a free one. Thanks!--75.24.103.14 (talk) 14:22, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Dick Shawn, comic
[edit]Does anyone remember Dick Shawn in a type of military outfit with gadgets on him and a band playing and he talks about Buckys woes and tells him to never give up never give upRitamagita (talk) 19:30, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- Sounds more like Eddie Lawrence's 1956 "Old Philosopher" recording. Pepso2 (talk) 21:07, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Name of Sci-Fi movie
[edit]I don't remember much about it except it took place on a planet far from the Sun (maybe Neptune or Uranus) where one section had a habitable, Earthlike climate. There was a region of incredible cold (near absolute zero) which was separated from the warm climate by some barrier resembling a force field. One of the characters accidentally sticks his unprotected hand through through the barrier and suffers instant frostbite. The characters otherwise wore astronaut suits to venture into the cold region. This was probably a 1950's or 1960's era film. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.36.212.227 (talk) 19:52, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- Neptune and Uranus lack a solid surface (unless you count one deep under layers of liquid and gas), so don't really match this description. However, bad sci-fi movies from that era might very well get that wrong. Pluto or a moon of one of the gas giants would at least provide a solid surface, though. Mars also gets plenty cold in the dark. StuRat (talk) 18:08, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
