[edit]Musical Style I.D.
[edit]I'd like to know what tradition/s (or simply style) of music Elliott Smith is drawing on for his little morose piano ditty "Bye". It sounds familiar. (I'd post a link here, but I'm not sure if that constitutes a copyright violation...the song is short and shouldn't be difficult to find—and a legal thirty second clip should give you enough of an idea). - To me, it sounds like a cross between Philip Glass (minimalist) and Johann Sebastian Bach (baroque). -- JackofOz (talk) 04:27, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
2004-2005
[edit]During Winter 2004-2005 (northern hemisphere), there was a fad, (maybe they are called norwegian hats, or that they came from norway, or the style) and the hats had like a puff at the central top with a little base, and there are, if I remember correctly, ear side flaps (to protect the ears from the cold, I guess I reckon), and from these ear side flaps hang braided (if I remember correctly) hangings/(dress-like) tassels, that start (if I remember correctly) and end (if I remember correctly) with a base. They are still worn today (I believe). These hats look onepiece (as in altogether, all in one) woven. What are these hats called?
What is that brand of these hats? What is the pattern of these hats?
What is the style of these hats? What is the color of these hats?68.148.149.184 (talk) 18:57, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- Check out our articles for Ushanka and Chullo. There are variations of these available through many retailers worldwide. cheers, 10draftsdeep (talk) 20:16, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- Are you referring to the alpaca hat fad? -- kainaw™ 20:18, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- How ironic, yes if the fad includes Chullos. Definitely not the Ushanka. The hat I have in mid (in desgin, not necessarily pattern or color) is [1] but
werewhere the braids are longer and the poofy at the top has a base (unless I'm somehow mistaken, I can't be sure, I guess).68.148.149.184 (talk) 23:00, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
