[edit]Androgynous
[edit]Anyone know where I can get the sheet music for The Replacements' Androgynous, if it exists? Black Carrot (talk) 04:51, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- No results from musicroom.com - suggests may not be available. Strawless (talk) 18:53, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Can you identify the golfers in a photo - I think one is Arnold Palmer in1960
[edit]Please send me an E-mail address so i can send the photograph. It is very clear as it was taken by the Herald Newspaper in port Elizabeth S.A. in 1960 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.240.66.39 (talk) 13:16, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Can you please link the photo for us? — Twas Now ( talk • contribs • e-mail ) 14:51, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- If you don't know how, there's a page explaining it: Wikipedia:Uploading_images Black Carrot (talk) 19:00, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- You don't need to upload it if you found it somewhere online. — Twas Now ( talk • contribs • e-mail ) 20:31, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Will The Young and the Restless end in the Summer of 2009? Ericthebrainiac (talk) 13:40, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- It's extremely unlikely. The Young and the Restless currently has the highest viewership ratings of any soap opera in the United States, meaning that its position on television is pretty much secure. If any of the major soap operas is scheduled to come to an end, I'm sure you will hear about it specifically; you won't need to ask on the Wikipedia Reference Desk, because it will be well-publicized. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:45, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Greatest hits of Dusty Springfield
[edit]Hi I have heard Dusty Springfield songs recently and would like to buy a CD of her greatest hits to hear more. Any recommendations from anyone which is the best CD to buy which has most of her big hits on?
Many thanksSpiderb (talk) 15:41, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Obviously this would be a matter of opinion, which we don't generally traffic in here at the desks. But I'll go out on a limb and mention Dusty in Memphis, which is not specifically a "greatest hits" album although it contains many of her, ummm, greatest hits. As can be seen in the article, it has been mentioned in several listings of the "top 100", "top 10", etc, lists. --LarryMac | Talk 15:52, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- If you can trust the voice of the people, Rate Your Music has a list of Dusty Springfield albums. The most popular regular album (in both sales and user ratings) seems to be Dusty in Memphis. She has a lot of compilations though, and you can sort through that mess if you want! — Twas Now ( talk • contribs • e-mail ) 16:02, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Dusty in Memphis may be her best album, but it doesn't have a lot of her big hits. Like Twas Now says, there are a bunch of compilations; I have The Best of Dusty Springfield: The Millennium Collection, which has a good number of her charting songs: "I Only Want to Be With You", "Stay Awhile", "Wishin' and Hopin'", "Little by Little", "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me", "All I See is You", "I'll Try Anything", "The Look of Love", "Losing You". MISS WORLD
[edit]IS MISS WORLD BROADCAST IN THE UNITED STATES ? IF SO ON WHAT NETWORK ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.193.191.10 (talk) 18:01, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Possibly, it could be on Telemundo, ABC, CBS or on MyNetworkTV. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ericthebrainiac (talk • contribs)
- I have never heard of the Miss World pageant being broadcast in the United States, at least not in recent years (say, the last 20 years). That doesn't prove that it doesn't have a television contract in the U.S., but if it does, its broadcaster has not publicized it particularly well. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:41, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
UK digital decoder
[edit]Some channels working 100%. Others read "No signal. Please check antenna/cable." Cable seems OK. What should I do please? Kittybrewster ☎ 18:46, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Is it a freeview box with aerial, or is it a satellite dish? Were the channels all working at any point? Does the decoder give any measure of signal strength? Fribbler (talk) 10:40, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- Turn it off, wait a minute, turn it on. Or reset it completely so that it retunes itself. It's a good idea to do this every few months anyway, as the channels change.--Shantavira|feed me 17:37, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Here's some things you can try, but remember that poor weather can affect the signal in weird ways (both satellite and freeview, but not cable unless flood water has got into the cabling):
- Check the connections again - undoing them and tightening them again.
- Also try resetting your box - turn it off at the wall, wait a minute and turn it back on.
- Then find out if it's just your box or some other environmental problem by asking the neighbours if they're having similar problems (assuming they have a similar setup to yourself).
- Finally call the aerial/cable/Sky engineer. Astronaut (talk) 17:52, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- Also check if there is good coverage in your area. link JessicaThunderbolt 15:49, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
