Aida

[edit]

Does anyone know where I can download Aida by Giuseppe Verdi? I'm looking for the play itself, not a movie, possibly in an MP4 format. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.15.210.135 (talk) 00:49, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's an opera, not a play. Are you looking for the libretto or a performance? Rmhermen (talk) 01:08, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing as the OP specifically requested MP4 format, it's not likely to be the libretto they're looking for but a film of a performance. Most of these will be covered by copyright and thus not available for free downloading. --Richardrj talk email 06:30, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But a film of a performance would be a "movie", wouldn't it? Unless the OP wants a filmic record of a performance that hasn't been packaged and marketed as a feature film. Or maybe just an audio recording. Around these parts, determining exactly what the question is, is sometimes harder than the answer. -- JackofOz (talk) 06:40, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you go to the Aida article, among the external links at the bottom of the page are one for the complete libretto, and even one for a "Creative Commons MP3 recording". (I can't help you with MP4.) If you only want one track but don't know which one it is (the March is probably the best known piece) go over to Amazon and select the Aida Highlights CD by the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. This allows you to listen to a sample of each track.--Shantavira|feed me 09:19, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
