[edit]This year, all 4 acting winners were non-USA / foreigners ... (British, French, Spanish, and British). Does anyone know if that is a "first"? Has there ever been a prior Academy Award ceremony, where no American won any of the 4 top acting prizes? Thanks. (Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 07:17, 25 February 2008 (UTC))
- That's an interesting bit of trivia. Scanning the lists, the only previous occurrence that I noticed was the 37th Academy Awards (1964). Some diligent Wikipedia editor has even already noted this in the article. —Kevin Myers 12:02, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. Just as you suspected. Per: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,332389,00.html ... "Non-Americans — in this case, Europeans — took home all four of the major acting awards. British actor Daniel Day-Lewis and France's Marion Cotillard were best lead actor and actress. The supporting actor and actress prizes went to Spain's Javier Bardem and British actress Tilda Swinton. The only other time in the Oscars' 80-year history that all four acting winners were foreign born was 1964." [1]
- Leave to Fox News to call Europeans "non-Americans", as if they are the exception to the rule. 206.252.74.48 (talk) 20:12, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to defend them necessarily but the Academy is a U.S. organization. Dismas|(talk) 02:21, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

- Saying "non-Americans" makes the rarity of the event more remarkable. —Tamfang (talk) 20:50, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Zelda's Lullaby Parody
[edit]Back before G4 sucked, there was an old episode of Cinematech that featured a song that I believe was called "Zelda's Lullaby". It was a very upbeat tune with mentions of Nintendo characters such as "Everything I know I learned from Mario" and "Samus Aran can be the best man". The chorus was a very high-pitched voice going "Triforce! Triforce!" If anyone can link this song or find some info it would be appreciated. Thank you. BioYu-Gi! (talk) 21:10, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
