[edit]If I turn off my watch/search history on my Google account for YouTube, does Google still log the videos I watch in a way that's traceable to me?
[edit]If I turn off my watch/search history on my Google account for YouTube, does Google still log the videos I watch under my account in a way that's traceable to me? Therapyisgood (talk) 20:58, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- Yes. All activity is tracked. It is in the best interest of the tracking companies to state that they don't track everything. They do. 97.82.165.112 (talk) 13:53, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- This has some tips to limit how much data YouTube can track about you, but it is unclear if these features stop the logging of data or stop the app from telling you what data it is logging. When you delete your search history, it makes it impossible for you to use YouTube, as an end user, to look back through the search history. It is unclear from that page (and anything I can find) whether that data still exists for, say, Google to know what you had searched before you deleted your YouTube search history. --Jayron32 15:26, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
