Smartphone problems - viewing webpages.

[edit]

You know how on a computer/laptop, if you are on website.com/Page.html, and you want to go to the domain name, you can just double click on the url, and then at the end, erase the words Page.html and then hit Enter and get into the domain? Or any "up 1 folder." Well, it doesn't seem to be able to do that on my smartphone. If I tap on the url, then the entire url disappears, meaning I have to manually type in the domain name url. Is this the case for all smartphones? 67.165.185.178 (talk) 17:33, 29 January 2023 (UTC).[reply]

This depends on the browser you are using. I use Opera, and it works the way you expect: tapping on the URL allows you to edit it. On Chrome it is different: tapping on the URL gives you a blank box to type in a new URL. But on Chrome you can edit the current URL by tapping the pencil icon that appears when you tap the URL. If you're using yet another browser, please specify which one. CodeTalker (talk) 18:11, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay perfect, the pencil icon works. Thanks. So yes it was Chrome. 67.165.185.178 (talk) 18:29, 29 January 2023 (UTC).[reply]
