[edit]Seven digit dialing in the US post-988?
[edit]Our relevant articles don't nake it totally clear where in the US, other than North Dakota, still have seven-digit dialing allowed - just the places that had to change because of the 988 implementation. Am i missing something? Abeg92contribs 00:46, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
- The 988 issue affected specific area codes that included 988 as the prefix for the 7-digit number. 37 states, and only some area codes in most of those states, were affected. I just checked and dialed a 7 digit "local" number on my cell phone. It worked just fine. But, when I looked at my call history, it shows up with my area code preceding the number. It is difficult to know if it accepted the 7-digit number or if my phone noticed that I dialed 7 digits and automatically added my area code to it. 97.82.165.112 (talk) 16:29, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
