alsamixer "capture" vs "mike"

[edit]

When I invoke alsamixer for my headset, I see three vertical bars, labelled "Headphone", "Mic", and "Auto Gain Control". The last bar seems to be disabled; it stays at 00 no matter what I do. The "Mic" bar seems to have some effect, but not much.

If I want to get any serious volume change for the microphone, I need to hit F4 and go to the "Capture" view.

So my question is, what does microphone volume mean, if not microphone capture volume? Why are there two separate settings, and what do they do differently? --Trovatore (talk) 04:54, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Excel 2003 and pictures

[edit]

In excel 2003 (on Win 7), is it possible (and if so how) to insert a picture INTO a cell rather than the standard "over" a cell? I have inserted a picture, but when I use a Data filter and hide the row that the picture is on, the row the picture remains visible. -- SGBailey (talk) 07:32, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It would appear that "Format Picture | Properties | Move and size with cells" achieves the effect I mostly desire. The option Move but don't size doesn't lock the picture to a cell. RESOLVED as best it can be I think. -- SGBailey (talk) 08:27, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
