Where do these lists come from?
[edit]Okay, I didn't ask the question correctly earlier. There are four sets of lists, two of which are on Wikipedia. The Wikipedia lists change as I type either in the heading or the edit summary. Apparently each list is in alphabetical order and each new heading or edit summary gets added, but as I type a different list appears. I can't get rid of the useless entries, but it would be nice to have certain frequently used headings or edit summaries, and with enough typing I can get those.
List category number three appears if I click at the top of the page where the URL is. Sometimes. This list isn't in any order I can see and doesn't change frequently. I can't necessarily say these are web sites I go to frequently, but they might be. I don't know where they came from.
List category number four appears when I do a search in a newspaper web site. After reinstallation of Windows, the list never changes and what is on the list isn't useful, but what I type in nearly every case never seems to appear. - Yes, it sounds like as you type it suggests possible things you might be trying to type. This is fairly common behavior these days. In some cases, the list is generated from things you typed into that blank before (like the Wikipedia edit summary), while in other cases it's just choosing from the total list available, like when typing in the Wikipedia search bar. I've also seen Google Chrome go a bit further and do some spelling correction when finding matches. So, if I type "doanld" it might suggest "Donald Trump". StuRat (talk) 03:18, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

The only information I can provide is that I use Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge, and that's as much as I can do. - @Vchimpanzee: While Matt Deres was not as civil as they might have been, your "bug report" was one of the worse I have ever seen. If you have the time, read http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html; if not, the short version is that you should report such things with the
I did (such-and-such elementary steps described with enough detail that someone else can reproduce them without having to guess anything); it did (precise description of the problem/error/unexpected behavior encountered) [while I expected (description of the expected behavior) - not mandatory].

- My apologies; you said there were two lists on Wikipedia. I foolishly took that to mean that the lists were on Wikipedia. Modern browsers remember previously filled data. What you'll see is a list of previous bits of data you entered, filtered to only show ones that match what you've begun typing. I don't think you've entered any edit summaries on this section yet, so nothing should pop up if you try to enter something while replying to this because any entries shown would have to begin with /* Where do these lists come from? */ . However, if you enter "X" in the edit summary (after the /* Where do these lists come from? */ bit), save the page and then go to edit it again, /* Where do these lists come from? */X should appear in the list. You should be able to delete ones you don't want to keep by pressing the up or down keys on the keyboard and pressing the delete key when you get to the ones to be removed. - Tigraan it is not possible to report what I am having a problem with in the format you suggest. I do the best I can, and all I seem to get half the time from this reference desk is criticism. I tried copying and pasting examples and it doesn't work, so only a screen shot, if that is possible, would illustrate what I'm trying to do.

- Matt Deres it didn't work. I typed "Y" on a user talk page and got that list. "Your help desk question" does appear so I select that. However, when I pressed the down arrow it made the next item appear in the heading box, and if I had wanted to save it, it would have been the heading. The item continued to appear in my list of choices even when I started over.

- And what happened when you pressed the delete key? When you start typing out the edit summary, a list of previous edit summaries should appear, filtered to only show those which match whatever you've begun actively typing. If you press one of the up/down arrows, different options will be highlighted blue (if you're in Firefox; I don't know if the others use the same colour). Pressing <enter> will cause whatever's highlighted to populate the edit summary and pressing the <delete> key should remove it from the list of options. Note that on Firefox, at least, it seems that you must press <delete> to remove them - <backspace> seems to only affect what is actively in the edit summary (not exhaustively tried out). If it's awkward using the arrow keys, you can carefully make use of the mouse to do the same thing (but clicking either button causes the text to populate, not delete). - See the "Upload File" link on the left side of the screen, under Tools ? That will allow you to upload a pic to your account. There were other methods of uploading. Input & Output
[edit]I possess two entitled units:
a) one with a cord consisting 1 ‘’input’’ and 2 ‘‘output’’ (one for ‘’mic’’ and one for ‘’headphone’’)
b) one (without a cord) consisting 1 ‘’input’’ and 2 ‘‘output’’ (both can be used either for ‘’mic’’ and or ‘’headphone’’ depending on the ‘’input’’ insertion port)
1) What are they called and where could I buy the originals from? Current ones I bought/possess are faulty quality (looks wise as well as usage wise).

- It sounds like you are talking about "patch cords" used in audio equipment. They are very common. You use the end connections to describe them, such as "1/4 male to XLR male". They aren't hard to find once you know which specific cable you need. 209.149.113.5 (talk) 16:48, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- I don't think the unit "without a cord" could be a patch cord! - Mic input is more sensitive than Line In. Earphone / Phones Output is more powerfull than Line Out. Line Out and Line In, also called AUX are compatible. The old German DIN connector, globaly known and also used for old AT/XT keyboards od MIDI interfaces, but not totally electrical incompatible in all these applications had al lower signal voltage than XLR, Line and Cynch analog interfaces. --Hans Haase (有问题吗) 11:08, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
Audio editing software for an old Mac G4
[edit]I've got hold of an old G4 Mac and it's running OSX version 10.3.9 and I wanted to put some audio editing software on it. Maybe Logic or Sound Forge? Can anyone tell me if this is possible and what versions I would need, and where I could get them?? The processor is 450MHz and it has 1Gb of RAM.
