A yifi codec?

Hi there,
I'd downloaded a video file, but when I opened it, I saw in the movie, that it needs a "codec".
It gave me a link to download, my worry that it is a virus. Has anyone used this link before?

Recommend discussing this on a forum; –since this likely involves an illegal activity, this desk is reluctant to comment, with the exception of noting the following reliable sources:

AVG rates the site as "currently safe" based on absence of evidence (nobody reported a virus):[1]

WoT rates the site as "unsatisfactory" with low confidence (one report of "scam"):[2]

Friend having graphics issues + crashing while using "Forge" modded Minecraft Client

Hello!

I run a Minecraft community and we have made a special new custom modded server that uses forge. We have a custom client that contains our mods, and there have been issues with some people being able to use it. These issues are so far within our area of expertise and relate to the user needing to use 64-bit java, or modify the JVM flags a bit. No big deal so far.... However, i have a friend with an issue i cant wrap my head around, nor can my more experienced technical friend.

What happens when the client is loaded on this guys computer is one of two things. Most often, the client just outright crashes. SOMETIMES the client will load, but instead of the normal main menu opening up, he sees only the background, and scaled down to 1/2 size on the lower left corner of the window. The GUI itself: "Single Player", "Multiplayer", "Options" etc.... is where it should be, because even though the graphics are screwed up, he can click where the buttons SHOULD be and it does stuff, although if he goes into single player menu for instance, its still really broken. I dont remember exactly but i think if he goes to other menus the Minecraft client window is just totally blank.

The confusing part is that this modded client is using 1.7.10, and he CAN use vanilla 1.7.10 client just fine, so i wouldn't think there would be any issue.

Sounds like one of the display layers has the wrong display scale, which to me means either the graphics card or it's driver are bad. I'd try reloading the driver first, then try out a new card. (If you don't have a spare graphics card that fits that PC, you might be able to buy one with the option to return it, if that doesn't fix the problem.) The crash is occurring in ig4dev32.dll, which is a component of the video driver. By googling it I found this page which says that the Intel 4 series is not supported by Minecraft 1.7.4 and later, though it also says you might get lucky if you update the video drivers. I have no idea why the unmodded 1.7.10 does work. -- BenRG (talk) 05:43, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

BenRG: That confuses me as well. They can play unmodded just fine. You would think adding mods has nothing to do with display compatibility. Also from what you wrote, it sounds like the fact they can run 1.7.10 is a miracle.

I'm very confused.
