Dropbox folder in my computer

[edit]

Helllo !!! I am confused about dropbox folder on my laptop. I synch all my files from ipad , mobile and laptop to online dropbox automatically , now every thing synched automatically aslo comes in the folder on my laptop. Now the problem is that i am running out of free space on c drive of computer ', so my question is this if i delete all the data on the folder in my laptop ,will it be deleted from online dropbox account as well. If no then i will delete it and if yes then how can i make some free space on my c drive , because i know that it has occupied most of the space. Thanks very much for any help... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.27.211.112 (talk) 12:35, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the Dropbox syncs so that files would first be deleted from the online dropbox and after that, the files will be deleted from your ipad. Star Lord - 星王 (talk) 14:08, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You can prevent some folders to be synced, according to this. https://www.dropbox.com/help/175/en Star Lord - 星王 (talk) 14:11, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think the best approach would be to test an operating system delete of an unimportant file to see if it actually syncs. To me that would make no sense... what if a virus deleted your files - would that be synced? From the dropbox help, it would seem the way to delete a file from all locations simultaneously would be from clicking the trashcan button in dropbox itself. On this note, I wouldn't trust really important or irretrievable data to just one website. Even though it's unlikely, dropbox could go down and then your files would be lost forever. Store them in multiple places, online and offline. How to free space on c: drive? Check the advice given a few questions back, for example using Space Sniffer. Mediawiki feature question

[edit]

I'm an admin on another wiki (a Wikia one, if it makes a difference), and I know on some wikis (but not on Wikia) there is an option to nuke pages by a user or IP, mass deleting. I was wondering if there was an option to mass restore pages by a user or if it needs to be done manually for each page. - Purplewowies (talk) 23:45, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
