- The levels adjustment really helped it, but there's still too much glare IMO. Much of the image is unsharp (not just the fast-moving bits), and it's tightly cropped above and below. Something about the pose of the closest soldier detracts from it too. Good caption, reasonable EV, but I think there are too many quality problems for this to do well at FPC. --Avenue (talk) 10:44, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- Would there be a more suitable place, such as VI or QI to nominate it? Palm_Dogg (talk) 00:54, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

High quality/resolution, Free license, Accurate and good captioning, with no digital manipulation. Has also been used by both the Marine Corps and The Economist, which is the main reason I'm including it here as an alternative. If the community thinks this has potential, I can fix the lack of articles ASAP.

- Strong composition. There's a lot of noise, so some manipulation is probably needed, and the resolution's on the small side. I think it might have a chance though, assuming suitable articles can be found. --Avenue (talk) 10:52, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think this image has enough EV to pass personally. JJ Harrison (talk) 20:17, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- I've added it to Nawa-I-Barakzayi District#Operation Enduring Freedom. There's a whole paragraph there on this battalion's operations in that district, so I think the EV isn't bad. --Avenue (talk) 20:48, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- Added two other articles. I obviously see the EV problem, and mainly included it because it's been picked up by 'outside' publications. The only picture I think we have with good EV is this one of a Marine unit moving to secure a helicopter crash site. As with the last one, would there be a more suitable place to nominate it?
