Wikipedia:Picture peer review/Mongolian horse racing
On the recently finished featured picture candidacy of Naadam Horse Race, there were several helpful reviewers who liked the photograph but felt that the image quality hurt the subject. I had chosen the subject mainly for its composition but have several other photographs of Mongolian horse racing, one of which I plan to insert into an article by the same name. Since I have proven to be a poor judge of image quality due to my inexperience, I thought I would enlist the help of reviewers here to comment on image quality prior to nominating another image for featured picture. I think that the three riders is too dark but maybe someone can brighten it. The second picture I feel is best. (Note that none of these images are in the article!)

- Unfortunately I doubt that any of them would make it through FPC. Presumably they were taken with the same camera as your FPC that you nominated, they have similar quality issues. Your FPC image was the strongest: it had excellent composition and subject matter. These ones are somewhat less interesting (the dead horse was certainly "interesting"). These photos are unfortunately blurry, with significant JPG artifacts. --Pharaoh Hound (talk) 20:14, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for the input (and the honesty)! I'll turn my search elsewhere for pictures to add. InvictaHOG 11:47, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
