Wikipedia:Picture peer review/Andrew Carnegie in front of Rays Hill Tunnel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Andrew Carnegie in front of the Rays Hill Tunnel during the construction of the South Pennsylvania Railroad in the 1880s. Construction on the railroad ceased before completion in the same decade
Edit 1 - Edited for dusts and scratches and cropped out unknown thing atop

I don't know if we have a railroad image yet at Featured Pictures, and this one is certainly an original. With the historic image I have here, I am looking for help on getting this for FPC.

  • I'd be happy to work on the image, but to do that I'd need a higher quality original: this has a lot of articasts due to jpeg compression. If you could upload this in tiff (or png) format: I'm your man. -- Michel Vuijlsteke (talk) 15:41, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This was a scan of the original image, I can try as soon as possible.Mitchazenia :  Chat  Trained for the pen 15:43, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit 1 does indeed look better, but it still needs more restoration to be good for FPC. For instance, see the tunnel. That should be black without the dust, scratches, and smudges. As long as your upload is up to scratch size-wise, it seems Michel Vuijsteke will do it for you. ~ ωαdεstεr16«talkstalk» 22:17, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
