Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, lunar module pilot, walks on the surface of the Moon during the first human Moon landing. This iconic photograph was taken by Neil Armstrong, Commander of the Apollo 11 mission, from a point near the leg of the Lunar Module Eagle at its landing site on the Sea of Tranquility. Michael Collins, remained with the Command and Service Modules Columbia in lunar orbit, waiting to rendezvous with the Lunar Module for the return journey to Earth.
