General
[edit]Forgotten in all this is the fact that many major movie companies are now filming in Shreveport after moving north from New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Not only are made for TV movies filming, but feature films such as Mr. Brooks starring Kevin Costner and Demi Moore. The former Shreveport Expo hall has been rented out to movie companies and is in the beginning stages of being renovated as a movie sound stage.
I have changed the first sentence in the article back to saying that Shreveport is the third largest city in Louisiana, rather than being temporarily the second largest. Recently, although estimates vary, the population of New Orleans is estimated to have grown back to over 200,000, which would put New Orleans ahead of Shreveport which has a population of about 198,000 at last census count. The population of New Orleans is expected to continue growing over the summer as evacuee families move back to the city while their children are out of school. Although I don't have any sources with any official count, I think it is safe to say that New Orleans now has more people than Shreveport. Even if it doesn't, it most likely will soon. 24.162.87.125 00:21, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Schools
[edit]Schools?? Are those all the secondary schools in Shreveport? Isn't there a Booker T. Washington? Any others?
Well this secondary School thing is getting way out of hand, way too long for this article, there need to be a spoke made for Caddo Parish Schools and put all of this in there, and make a brief reference to schools: higher, secondary and elem/primary.. then put all that long bits about the schools under a new article Caddo Parish Schools (Public & Private) makes more since. - J.G.
Example look at Houston and then under Houston Independent School District much larger city but you get the concept.

[edit]I added them back, they been on forever, I took the pictures, and I gave permission to use them, just some guy from Ohio thinking he knows whats best about us in Louisiana... and if he is from Ohio where did he get that picture? I looks like the pic the City of Shreveport uses on its web page, is that legal?
I think I read on the image upload page that usually pictures taken from other websites are copyrighted and cannot be used, although in some cases "fair use" may be used. I have had some problems with this myself as per the Mary Manheim article. You do need to specify some sort of license and that the license is accurate, though, otherwise it is subject to deletion. I would assume that a picture of a city could be used under "fair use", but you may want to contact an administrator for assistance if unsure. Runa
