I started this as a stub a few months ago, but have filled out over the past few days. It covers a famous 19th century murder case and an early "media frenzy" that surrounded it. I'll probably put it up for FAC soon, and would appreciate any comments on parts of the story that need filling out or cutting down. It is probably full of typos and cut-and-paste errors that I've missed while rearranging it, so feel free to correct any of those you see. Yomanganitalk 12:48, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- There's very little wrong with this, in my opinion, and I think it could pass FA right now, with a wash and brush up (I'll essay a few copy-edits sometime, but the text is pretty clean already). I love this type of article, which reads like a story—I also just read Abraham Lincoln assassination, which exerts a similar fascination, though the editor there exhibits less relish for the gruesome than slightly worrying colleague Yomangani. (Oh, and since you spotted Jogaila enjoying the hunting of Ruthenian fiddlers, let me record that "Corder had been sent to London in disgrace after the affair with the pigs" left me in no doubt such a man deserved a thorough hanging, whether he murdered apple-chinned Ms Marten or not.) qp10qp 15:57, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I did wonder about the pig affair but I thought that was just me...I shall rephase it to protect the porkers' modesty. I'm also a bit worried about the two human dissection articles in a row, but I've got a couple of other much more pleasant articles in the pipeline that don't involve mutilation and death (although there is a tiny little train crash in one of them). - As qp10qp said, this is another top-notch article and a very engaging read. Indeed, it's so good that I'm failing miserably to think of any improvements which could be made. I'll also run through a couple of times (in the next day or so, hopefully) to see if there's any other minor faults. But it's looking very good. Trebor 16:45, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Comment Can you sort out the References section so it actually only contains what you've used as reference to write the article, and place all other books in a Further reading section please? LuciferMorgan 12:01, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I used all the references listed. I don't tend to have a further reading section unless I know of a book about the subject that I can't get hold of. Yomanganitalk 12:51, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I've got a bit of time to work on it now if necessary, so I'm adding it to FAC and archiving this PR. Thanks, for your comments everybody. Yomanganitalk 18:31, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
