- The article has been passed as a Good Article. I would appreciate comments as to how to improve it further.--A Y Arktos\talk 00:13, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and may or may not be accurate for the article in question (due to possible javascript errors/uniqueness of articles).
- Please expand the lead to conform with guidelines at WP:LEAD. The article should have an appropriate number of paragraphs as is shown on WP:LEAD, and should adequately summarize the article.
- Although the lead has only one para, I think it is adequate for the article, covering the scope of the issues.--A Y Arktos\talk 00:27, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Per WP:CONTEXT and WP:MOSDATE, months and days of the week generally should not be linked. Years, decades, and centuries can be linked if they provide context for the article.
- I will check--A Y Arktos\talk 00:27, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- See if possible if there is a free use image that can go on the top right corner of this article.
- There is a picture on http://www.eniar.org/news/murdoch2.html but it dates from 1972 and is definitely not public domain. There is also some sensitivity about pictures of Indigenous Australians, although as far as I know that is only when they are deceased. Stuart is still alive. I haven't found any appropriate free use pictures. The article is illustrated further down but these are not suitable for the lead.--A Y Arktos\talk 00:27, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- There may be an applicable infobox for this article. For example, see Template:Infobox Biography, Template:Infobox School, or Template:Infobox City. (Note that there might not be an applicable infobox; remember that these suggestions are not generated manually)
- I don't think Template:Infobox Biography is appropriate - no image and he hasn't died, all relevant info in lead.--A Y Arktos\talk 00:29, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Per WP:MOSNUM, there should be a non-breaking space -
between a number and the unit of measurement. For example, instead of 18mm, use 18 mm, which when you are editing the page, should look like:18 mm
.- fixed one instance, didn't find any others--A Y Arktos\talk 00:47, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- As per WP:MOSDATE, dates shouldn't use th; for example, instead of using January 30th was a great day, use January 30 was a great day.
- Per WP:MOS#Headings, headings generally do not start with the word "The". For example, ==The Biography== would be changed to ==Biography==.
- I think the definite article is warranted in the sub-heading The Stuart Case, but happy to take feedback.--A Y Arktos\talk 00:32, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Please alphabetize the categories and interlanguage links.
- There are a few occurrences of weasel words in this article- please observe WP:AWT. Certain phrases should specify exactly who supports, considers, believes, etc., such a view. For example,
- it has been
- allege
- might be weasel words, and should be provided with proper citations (if they already do, please
strikethis comment).- It has been has a cite against it. The use of the word alleged is also justified I believe in the context altough no specific cite uses that form of words. Suggestions as to how to rephrase would be useful--A Y Arktos\talk 00:56, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Please ensure that the article has gone through a thorough copyediting so that the it exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work. See also User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 2a.
- I have had a go. As this is an article about an Australian, Commonwealth English spelling applies. --A Y Arktos\talk 01:20, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- You may wish to browse through User:AndyZ/Suggestions (and the javascript checklist; see the last paragraph in the lead) for further ideas.
- Thanks, Andy t 00:18, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you - the suggestions were helpful--A Y Arktos\talk 01:20, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- As Andy suggests, it can be improved by removing excessive links to solitary years. A monobook tool allows this to be done with one click on a 'dates' tab in edit mode. You can then accept or reject the changes offered and/or do more editing before pressing 'Save'. Simply copy the entire contents of User:Bobblewik/monobook.js to your own monobook. Then follow the instructions in your monobook to clear the cache (i.e. press Ctrl-Shift-R in Firefox, or Ctrl-F5 in IE) before it will work. bobblewik 17:44, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
