I've listed this article for peer review because this is my first attempt at writing an article for Wikipedia, and I am anxious to improve it. As you can see, it was accepted, and classified as Start. The suggestion in the description of this classification is that the article does not contain enough meaningful content for most readers find it useful.
I should mention that I put the COI tag on this article because I think it might be coloring how I proceed with developing it. My bias is that Hulbert Taft was my great grandfather. I want to write this article not simple for that reason, but because he was, in fact, an influential figure in Cincinnati for five decades -- not only politically, but because his opinions were frequently sought on issues of public interest.
There's more to his story, which I'm wondering if I should mention in the article. His son, Hulbert Taft, Jr., began his career in journalism at the Time-Star, and was able to convince his father to expand the paper's operations beyond print journalism into broadcasting. That arm of the business became Taft Broadcasting when the newspaper closed. Taft Broadcasting grew exponentially into a huge media enterprise. I think that part of the story should be told in a separate article (about Hulbert Taft, Jr.; a Wikipedia article on Taft Broadcasting already exists). The point is, the Hulbert Taft/Times-Star story is partially about how Taft Broadcasting was started.
The truth is that, while I am very proud of my grandfather's and great grandfather's contributions to Cincinnati, that isn't why I want to do an article about them. I do understand about having a COI, and am aware that it might color how I write this. This isn't some vanity thing for me. They were both noteworthy figures, and I think their stories need to be told.
Not only that, but the fact that they are members of Ohio's Taft family is also an element of this, I think.
I apologize for the length of this, but I thought I should provide some background. So, I'm hoping that I might receive some suggestions as to what other specific information I could add to make this article more useful to people.
