Wikipedia:Peer review/George Pell/archive1

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've listed this article for peer review because there are already a sizeable amount of reliable sources used within the body of the article. It is of sufficient size and covers a noteworthy enough individual that, with a little bit of work, it oculd pass muster at FAC.

Hi M.O.X, I suggest taking this article to WP:GAN first before nominating it for WP:FAC. This is considered a step towards featured article status and will give lots of comments on your article. Some quick thoughts after a skim:

  • "Diocesan episcopal career" Is too long and has too many paragraphs. I suggest trimming it and merging paragraphs together.
  • "On 12 December 2018, the Vatican announced that Pell was one of three "more elderly" cardinals who were to leave the Pope's Council of Cardinal Advisers after a five-year term. The three were also thanked by the Pope for their service.[54][55][56][57][58]" Is five citations really necessary? While WP:OVERCITE is an essay, many reviewers wil question five citations in a row.
  • Views section is too detailed. MOS:OVERSECTION says short sections should be avoided. I suggest that anything that is too short should be merged or deleted.
  • "Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse" is very detailed. Is all of this information necessary?

These are just some thoughts after a quick skim. I hope they are helpful. Z1720 (talk) 02:52, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
