This article which I have worked on recently failed a good article nomination, because of several minor faults, and one major one: the extensive use of sources not thought to be reliable. However, this information I believe to probably be true and highly relevant to the article, but I do not know if it has been published in easily available reliable sources.-h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 14:47, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- For pop culture articles, I consider decent personal websites to be acceptable for verification and reading purposes, however they will impede any chances to progress the article in terms of good or featured article status. You would need to consider whether to sacrifice detail sourced to these sites to justify progressing the article through this process, or keeping the detail which you believe makes it a more informative article. Until better sources can be found, I would choose the latter option. It is still a good article for readers.-- Zleitzen(talk) 02:27, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. I mean, it's not as if the All Music Guide is always that much more accurate than these personal websites - sometimes it's in the wrong, yet somehow it constitutes a reliable source unlike the others... h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 11:51, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Comment Try looking for alternate sources that may be considered more reliable. Also, review the {{citeweb}} template which is commonly used for inline citations when going for GA / FA - improves GA / FA chances a lot this does. LuciferMorgan 11:43, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- I will use the cite web template once I have found better sources. I just don't know where these sources are. I doubt there are enough reliable sources online for this. I've fixed all the minor faults with the article, anyway.-h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 13:56, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, and another thing - the website of George Starostin is deemed to be an unreliable source, yet he has his own Wikipedia article and other reviews of albums on Wikipedia link to his website (although this could be an application of WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS)...-h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 14:09, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
