Hello, I'd like to take this article to Good Article status. I am seeking some advice from people who are unlikely to be biased from editing airport/aviation articles often. Some of my specific questions are:
- Are there any areas of too much or too little detail?
- Can a person who is not familiar with the aviation industry understand this article clearly?
- One of my big questions is about the Airlines and Destinations section. The norm per WP:AIRPORT-CONTENT (not policy) is not to provide references for existing destinations, which seems to me like it violates WP:V. Some discussions you could look at: here and here.
- Ultimately, do you think listing every destination is too much detail? Would a list of airlines be sufficient? I think the latter would be much simpler to reference.

Hello Sunnya343, thank you for your work on the article. After having read it, I've got a few comments:
- The second paragraph of the History section says that the airport had four runways at the end of World War II. The section later says that another runway was inaugurated in 2014. This means there should be five runways; since the airport now operates four runways, what happened to the one of the five?
- I've read multiple articles about the opening of the latest runway, but none provide an answer. The airport's website also states that there were four runways at the end of World War II (see here, so I have sent the airport authority an email to see if they can help. I will continue searching online for an answer - perhaps a runway was transformed into a taxiway, as was the case with runway 14/32 at the Las Vegas airport (see here and here). — Sunnya343✈ (háblame • my work) 23:50, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
- The article mentions that the airport has the longest runway in Canada. I've had a look at Denver International Airport, which has the longest runway in the US, and it says that the length of the runway facilitates hot-and-high operations. This article by Airportimprovement.com mentions such a rationale for Calgary's longest runway. Could this be added to the article?
- Done Please see the "Runway" section. — Sunnya343✈ (háblame • my work) 00:31, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
- Other than these two issues, there shouldn't be a problem for a person who's unfamiliar with the aviation industry to understand the article.
- With regards to whether there is too little or too much information, I've had a look at Melbourne Airport, and the percentage of prose about History (out of the article's entire word count) is similar for both articles. I think the proportion is right for this article. Perhaps the article can elaborate on the type of military activities that were carried out during World War II. The CBC sources says that aircraft were repaired and refuelled there before being delivered to the Soviet Union.
- Done — Sunnya343✈ (háblame • my work) 00:55, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
- I'm inclined to stay with the status quo for the issue of Airlines and Destinations, solely because I believe that the inclusions of destinations are unlikely to be controversial (although not having references would seem to border on violating WP:V). I think having the destinations in the table would be much better than having just a list of airlines. If we were writing about something historical and requires a historical perspective, then the level of detail such as having airline destinations would be unnecessary. But this article is about a current international airport, so including the destinations would be
criticaluseful. Regards, --Sp33dyphil (talk) 15:27, 12 August 2017 (UTC)- Thank you for offering your perspective. Please feel free to participate in the ongoing RfC at WT:AIRPORTS as well. — Sunnya343✈ (háblame • my work) 00:56, 9 September 2017 (UTC)

PS Sorry for the late response and thank you for your patience! — Sunnya343✈ (háblame • my work) 23:51, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you. I also think that the four runways were probably small enough for authorities to have converted one into a taxiway. Let's wait and see what the response on the runway numbers is. Regards, --Sp33dyphil (talk) 08:54, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello again Sp33dyphil, sorry for the wait but I have not received a response from the airport authority. I've done some more web searching and can't find anything... I guess it was so long ago and there have been so many adjustments to the airport layout since then. For now I've changed the wording of the sentence to "additional hangars and other infrastructure." — Sunnya343✈ (háblame • my work) 23:04, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- Also I've gone through and adjusted the "Airlines and destinations" tables to respect WP:V and MOS:RELTIME. — Sunnya343✈ (háblame • my work) 12:59, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
