I am curious if this article is ready to be upped to GA status. There is a significant number of good images and a nice amount of content on each piece of equipment. Thanks: SyBerWoLff 15:57, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Peripitus
[edit]A nice article on the components of modern bunker gear, but the article is not near GA status yet.
- Article needs more references - preferably to more than one written work
- History section needs to be much longer and talk about the evolution of the gear in much more detail.
- The lead needs to summarise the article per WP:LEAD - at present it is a simple definition of the heading.
- The article is very US-centric. seekout more information on other countries practices and consider renaming the article to a more generic term.
- change contractions like "dont't" to the words "do not"
- try removing the frequent occurances of the qualifyer "some" as it usually does not add to meaning.
- caption for the picture Several pairs of surplus firefighter boots. .... drop the "Several"
- Terms like "NFPA 1975" need to be wikilinked or explained.
- needs copyediting for conciseness... "required to be outfitted with safety toes" could be "required to have safety toes"
