PBS has expressed some interest in partnering somehow with the Wikipedia community.
A theme in the discussion is that public media (public TV, public radio and public internet like Wikipedia) needs to reach new audiences, innovate in the way it engages with people, and explore new and unique partnerships to facilitate this important work.
Meetups
[edit]- On March 29, 2015 staff and volunteers from the following organizations convened in New York City: PBS, NPR, WNYC, WNET, Wikimedia New York City, Wikimedia DC, Cascadia Wikimedians, meta:Wikimedia LGBT/Portal, Wiki Project Med, and the Wikimedia Foundation.
- Veterans meetup - on May 7 2015 Wikipedians in New York met at the WNET office for an editing event focused on United States veterans and small business programs. The Administrator of the Small Business Administration Maria Contreras-Sweet was kind to convene the meeting.
