MacMed
[edit]- Why do you want to be a Wikipedia Ambassador?
- I enjoy helping new users, and I feel that being an Ambassador would be a great way to ensure that new users are encouraged to come to the project and are not driven away by the cabal within the first few days.
- In three sentences or less, summarize your involvement with Wikimedia projects.
- Please indicate a few articles to which you have made significant content contributions. (e.g. DYK, GA, FA, major revisions/expansions/copyedits).
- I'm more of a wiki-gnome. I have a few ITN's that can be found on my page and I have done a few GA reviews. I've recently started doing some grammar fixes for milhist, and have worked with GOCE in the past.
- How have you been involved with welcoming and helping new users on Wikipedia?
- I am active on en-help on IRC.
- What do you see as the most important ways we could welcome newcomers or help new users become active contributors?
- Just ensuring that they have the chance to learn the rules, possibly through mistakes, before getting scared off by bitey editors.
- Have you had major conflicts with other editors? Blocks or bans? Involvement in arbitration? Feel free to offer context, if necessary.
- No, I have not been in any major conflicts.
- How often do you edit Wikipedia and check in on ongoing discussions? Will you be available regularly for at least two hours per week, in your role as a mentor?
- I edit Wikipedia essentially every day, and I will easily be available at least 2 hours per week.

[edit]- Support. You've been away for a while, and only recently returned, but you seem to have a pretty solid history and a good range of experience.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 14:47, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
