Wikipedia:Meetup Agnic

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Introduction

[edit]

This page is a meetup for the virtual Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon Pilot Program hosted by the partners of AgNIC. Our goal is to bring together our knowledge of high-quality agricultural information to crowdsource Wikipedia pages that deal with some aspect of agriculture and which are listed within the "Stub" and "Start" classes. Since this is a pilot program and will be hosted synchronously online, there is a cap at 10 participants. Register early for your spot!

In addition to our main goal of adding more high-quality agricultural information to Wikipedia, we also desire to:

  • encourage new or inexperienced editors and show them how they can contribute to Wikipedia
  • learn from and document our experience so that we may continue to host edit-a-thons at scale
  • foster and support the already robust and extensive professional network of agricultural information specialists

Articles to edit

[edit]

For beginning editors it is often best to begin with a stub or start class article. If you are a more experienced editor, please feel welcome to select more advanced articles and/or help other editors get started.

Otherwise, the organizers of this event have selected a list of stub and start class articles that need some help. Below you will find alphabetized lists of stub[3] and start class articles, the Wikipedia Community has helped us by organizing the stubs by category (below).
