Everyone is cordially invited to attend a staff ride to locations related to the Battle of San Pasqual. This event will be similar to an event held in December 2018. This should be the 79th Wikipedia meetup in San Diego County.
Meetup details

- Start time: 8:00AM PST / 0800
- End Time: 4:00PM PST / 1600
- Locations: Initially meetup at Kit Carson Park, Escondido, California, than travel up to Warner's Ranch and following the route of the Army of the West to the site of the Battle of San Pasqual. From there we will repark near Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead and hike the Mule Hill Trail.
- Route: The planned travel route can be found at this link, based on a staff ride planned by the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command's Combat Studies Institute
Goals
[edit]The goals of this staff ride are:
- Learn more about the Battle of San Pasqual, to help editors understand the event better, in the hope that they will improve the quality of the Wikipedia article of the battle.
- Utilize photography to contribute new files to Wikimedia Commons to potentially be utilized in the article about the battle, and associated articles.
- Enhance relations with other organizations within the community which maybe interested in the subject of the battle.
