The Bronx Council on the Arts, working with the AfroCROWD initiative, is hosting a Black Life Matters Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on Saturday February 27, 2016, as part of the BRONX:AFRICA exhibition at Longwood Art Gallery, to contribute to articles on Wikipedia for the national Black WikiHistory Month outreach campaign. The event will focus on Black and African History as part of #BRONX AFRICA.

    • Note: RSVP is required - Please note that Seating is limited and we advise that you do not RSVP unless you can attend.

    • Beginners welcome.
    • All languages welcome including English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, French, Yoruba and others. Wikipedia comes in 285 languages and you are welcome to edit it in any of them or translate from one language to another.
    • No food or beverages allowed in the computer lab.

Afro Free Culture Crowdsourcing Wikimedia (AfroCROWD) is a new initiative which seeks to increase the number of people of African descent actively editing Wikipedia. Become a part of the Wikimedia and free knowledge, culture and software movements and help close the multicultural and gender gaps in Wikipedia. Visit us at AfroCROWD to find out more.
