Wikipedia:Meetup/Biomedical Wikimarathon, PRBB 2016
The PRBB 2016 Biomedical Wikimarathon is an edit-a-thon activity prepared by the PRBB and Amical Wikimedia with the aim of updating, improving and creating articles related to Biomedicine in different Wikipedia language versions. This event is organised within the framework of the 10th anniversary of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). The main idea is to take advantage of the huge diversity of nationalities within the park (more than 50) and the wide range of scientific expertise of the researchers that work in the centres of the park, from molecular to population aspects.
The edit-a-thon is open to all researchers from the park and other research centers of Barcelona and surroundings. Participants are invited to create and edit Wikipedia articles about any aspect of Biomedicine in their own language.

What is an edit-a-thon?
[edit]An edit-a-thon is an activity where a group of Wikipedians gather together in a venue in order to widen an article or a subject in an encyclopaedia. It is a good to way for increasing or improving articles and also socialising a specific WikiProject (e.g. WikiProject Molecular and Cell Biology). Accompanying experts may provide quality references and paticipating Wikipedians only need Internet connection, bibliography, a table and a chair.
