From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

AWIS at UM is hosting a Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon open to all graduate students, which will also function as our year-end social for the AWIS mentoring circles program. The event will take place in the Chemistry Department on the University of Michigan's Central Campus on March 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This page is a work in progress; please check back for updates.

Event Information

[edit]

The event will be held University of Michigan Chemistry building, room 1200 on March 27th beginning at 5:00 p.m. Students, faculty, staff should bring their own device and should also set up a Wikipedia account for editing prior to arriving at the event.

No Wikipedia editing experience is required. We will provide a tutorial at the beginning of the event discussing how to edit, reference, and create pages in Wikipedia.

Participants will be able to choose from a list of articles to improve, or begin creating a new page.

Dinner and snacks will be provided. Please RSVP here.

We will be live tweeting during the event with the tag #AWISUMwikithon2018
