Invitation for the 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest

[edit]

Hello, everyone! I'd like to invite you all to sign up for the upcoming 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest. The event runs from July 1 to September 30 and signups close on July 15. The WikiContest focuses on developing countries. The intention is to improve the English Wikipedia's coverage and comprehension of articles related to developing countries. For this reason, you may also expect that articles related to Malaysia may be heavily edited during the contest. More information on how points will be awarded can be found at Wikipedia:2024 Developing Countries WikiContest/Scoring. For comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Wikipedia talk:2024 Developing Countries WikiContest. Thank you! Help for citing The Malay Dilemma

[edit]

I edited the article for kampong, which has a sentence regarding Mahathir Mohamad on the kampong in his book The Malay Dilemma. I need help in citing parts of the book and fixing citation format (e.g. publisher, edition, year of publication).

Can someone have a physical or digital copy to fix the citation? RFNirmala (talk) 13:46, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion about Sdn Bhd and Sendirian Berhad

[edit]

You are invited to join the discussion at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 July 10 § Sdn Bhd, which is within the scope of this WikiProject. Input to the discussion about the redirects Sdn Bhd and Sendirian Berhad from those with knowledge of Malaysian companies would be particularly helpful. COVID-19 timelines

[edit]

Hi there, I have been working on the Timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia pages for the past four years and eight months. I am thinking of ending my work on those timelines at the end of December 2024 since the Malaysian government and health authorities no longer treat it as a pandemic and have ended lockdown measures. The Wikipedia global timeline also stopped in 2023. Just wanted to check with other users working on Malaysian topics. I'm originally from Malaysia but have migrated to New Zealand. I mainly work on New Zealand topics now including the New Zealand timeline. I am thinking of ending that timeline at the end of the year as well since COVID is no longer considered a pandemic down under. Cheers. Andykatib (talk) 07:38, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that that COVID-19 will no longer be tracked, so there is little to reflect here. Thanks for the amazing dedication. CMD (talk) 08:01, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @Chipmunkdavis:, will stop coverage at the end of December 2024. Cheers. Andykatib (talk) 19:32, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Green's October 2024 edit-a-thon

[edit]

Hello WikiProject Malaysia:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!
