[edit]messup
[edit]Hey I read the article on foxnews.com wrong on Arron Hernandez and I placed something in talk page that was in error. This was done by mistake not intentionally. I just want to let you know what happened and my side. The edit was NOT on the main page but the talk page. I apologize for this error. Robertjhall4 (talk) 03:09, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- No problem Robertjhall4, but that is your edit and you are free to adjust it anyway you see fit. Mlpearc (powwow) 03:17, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Also here is where you would make future request of this nature, Wikipedia:Requests for page protection . Mlpearc (powwow) 03:20, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
translation tag needed
[edit]This article Desiderio Scaglia has been translated from the French Wikipedia. Where can I get a tag that says that? We're suppose to tag them right? Thanks. Malke 2010 (talk) 05:30, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- The tag is {{Translated page}}. —teb728 t c 05:49, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you! Malke 2010 (talk) 15:05, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you, TEB728. (I'm not Malke 2010.) I applied the template to both pages and a bot came along later and removed the tag from the article page. But, since the tag is a form of reference, shouldn't it stay on the article page in some form? --108.45.72.196 (talk) 04:49, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- As it says at Template:Translated page, we put the tag on the talk page. Logically we could have done it otherwise, putting it on either or both pages. (The talk page is a kind of extension of the article.) But the decision was made to put it on only the talk page. See the discussion at Template talk:Translated page/Archive 1#There should be material on the article page, too?. —teb728 t c 05:31, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info, TEB. I understand the reasoning why it only goes on the talk page. No problemo. --108.45.72.196 (talk) 16:36, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, thanks very much. Malke 2010 (talk) 18:20, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Yadav article
[edit]the info given on wikipedia about yadavs is absolutely absurd or wrong ...it is mentioned that they belong to shudras....the yadavs are chandravanshi rajputs or kshatriyas...they belong to the martial community since ages...plz remove the pics of girl and other nomadic people from yadavs on wikipedia because it is wrong and demean our community... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.240.211.181 (talk) 06:26, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- If you have concerns or suggestions for the Yadav article, please raise the issue on that article's talk page. The article appears to be well-sourced, so you should provide sources that support your requested changes. RudolfRed (talk) 06:59, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
Reliable references added
[edit]The template appearing at the top of the article of Furukawa Yuki says that this article maybe removed due to unreliable references. Since I have just editted the reference part and reliable sources of this article have been added, how come that the template is still there? How can I get confirmed whether this article will still be removed as said or not? Thank you for your kindness! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Missskelly7 (talk • contribs) 08:03, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Those tags are added and removed by human editors, not by any automatic process. If you believe that you have fixed a problem for which an article is tagged, you are welcome to remove the tag (pick the 'Edit' tab from the top of the page, and you will see the tags in braces ({{ ... }}) at the top of the article: it is usually obvious which is the relevant one). Remove the tag, and please enter an edit summary explaining that you are removing it and why you think this is appropriate. Other editors who look at that page will notice the change, and either agree with the removal or disagree: if they disagree, they might restore the tag, and then you should discuss it with them on the article's talk page. --ColinFine (talk) 11:28, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Also, if you remove a tag and another editor restores it, please avoid getting into an edit war. Discuss the disagreement on the article talk page. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:56, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
Does creating an account hide the IP address of old edits or only new edits?
[edit]Does creating an account hide the IP address of old edits or only new edits? I created an account but when I go to the edit history on pages I have edited I can still see my IP address. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cytokinetics (talk • contribs) 10:14, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Formatting
[edit]Added an image to the 1911 International Lawn Tennis Challenge (Davis Cup) but this messed up the page layout. The section header Final should appear below the image but on my screen at least it is placed to the right of the image. Can this be fixed? Thx.--Wolbo (talk) 13:06, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- I've added {{clear}} below the image call. Better now? Deor (talk) 14:29, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, that's done the trick. Thx! --Wolbo (talk) 14:56, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
how to use Template:Cite book optimal
[edit]Im trying to figure out how the Template:Cite book work. If I have a book, with one author, and its online available with individual links to each chapter, how do I optimal cite it? Should I just use the arguments author, url, title, isbn, publisher, date and page, and link to the index page of the book, or can I link to the exact chapter? I tried to also chapterurl and chapters in combination with url and pages, but I had trouble getting it accepted. Thanks. Belorn (talk) 14:07, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- I've emended the ref in History of Microsoft Word (I don't think you can use both the "url" and the "chapterurl" field in the same ref, but I may be wrong). Is the result what you wanted? Deor (talk) 14:27, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Very big thanks for the help and for quick response. Looks much better. Belorn (talk) 17:39, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
Page rename
[edit]How would someone fix the misspelling of a page Deadmaus — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.157.50.74 (talk) 14:44, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- There appears to be an ongoing debate about the correct title for this article. It is misleading to describe this as a 'misspelling'. AndyTheGrump (talk) 14:56, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
Taliban as a nationalist group like the IRA?
[edit]will be giving to classify the Taliban as a nationalist group like the IRA in Northern Ireland? João bonomo (talk) 18:04, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- You'd need reliable sources for such a classification, but I don't think nationalism has been a prominent part of the Taliban agenda. Huon (talk) 18:48, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- At Taliban, it's described as a "political movement". That seems reasonable; nationalism is more about political autonomy for a geographical area. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 00:21, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
- I'm saying that why the Taliban has wide support from Ethni Pashtun.see it. João bonomo (talk) 22:08, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
