EVENT - Save the date! - Sunday, January 15 (from 10:00 to 6:30) - Please make sure that you can attend this annual local Wikipedia conference at the Ace Hotel in Manhattan (the after party is optional but will be fun). Please RSVP. Be prepared to take part in an informal presentation about our Wikipedia archival project. I am not yet sure what time our presentation will be scheduled, so please also let me know about your availability on that day.

Start a Google Doc or other online journal for your reading notes. Take down any quotes that you think might be useful to add to a Wikipedia entry, and also jot down some of your thoughts/impressions.

How to write a paragraph - Pick a paragraph from research you are doing. Paste it with citation in your Google Docs journals, and paraphrase from it. Make sure to use in-text citation or signal phrase, whatever is appropriate.
Think about mapping out the structure of our entry - what sections should it have. Take a look at these examples for ideas, as well as the tables of contents on the books you have been reading.
Choose a research area to focus on if you haven't already. We need someone to cover public health, outreach, education, impact on other communities/industries (i.e. New York City in the art world, theater, fashion, religious and other communities, etc.)
