Welcome to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum WikiProject on the English Wikipedia! This project is intended to facilitate the sharing of resources from the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum (GFPLM) with the Wikimedia community. The GFPLM’s mission is to collect, preserve, and makes accessible archival materials and physical collections that document the life, career, and presidency of Gerald Ford, the 38th President of the United States. The Library in Ann Arbor is home to 25 million pages of documents, 450,000 still photographs, 3,500 hours of video, 3,000 hours of audio, and 787,000 feet of motion picture film. The Museum in Grand Rapids hosts core exhibits that tell the life stories of Gerald and Betty Ford as well as a series of temporary exhibits featuring the collections of the entire Presidential Libraries system, the Smithsonian Institution, the National Archives, and other cultural institutions. GFPLM also features a Digital Library that consists of digitized photographs and documents as well as digital photographs of physical collections of the Museum. Much of this digital collection has already been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons as part of a cooperation project. |
