Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates/Remarks upon Signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Appearance
One of the most important events of the United States civil rights era was the enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Lyndon Johnson's words about establishing equality are highly encyclopedic and particularly relevant in light of the historic event due to take place this month. Seems fitting to nominate this now. Appears at Lyndon B. Johnson and Civil Rights Act of 1964. Transcript available at Wikisource.[1]
