- Reason
- Cameron was Secretary of War under President Abraham Lincoln, and U.S. senator from Pennsylvania. The restoration has some scratches removed. It's a nice quality image for FP, I think.

- Comment This photograph was taken by Mathew Brady. It's one of a series of photos of Cameron by Brady in the Library of Congress and the National Archive, all obviously taken at the same sitting. Here are some others: File:Hon. Simon Cameron, Pa - NARA - 528098.jpg, File:Hon. Simon Cameron, Pa - NARA - 529942.jpg. And here's another version of the nominated image, apparently from the same negative (or a nearly identical one), which came to the LOC as part of the Brady-Handy collection. So I don't think it's accurate to say that the creator is "not known to the Library of Congress". Choliamb (talk) 00:48, 7 November 2023 (UTC)

- It needs more restoration (see for example his coat on left side). I would support if that's done. Bammesk (talk) 15:36, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
