- Comment – I am leaning to support the original (very detailed at full size). We have a similar FP: [1] in the article though. Bammesk (talk) 17:34, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose I hadn't noticed that Ivar Leidus had moved my image. This nomination is a worthy Commons FP and has more detail than mine [2]. However this image has less EV as only the hindwing underside is shown. Charlesjsharp (talk) 10:16, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
- Comment – As a high-resolution image, the nominated photo is excellent, but I agree with Charlesjsharp that his photo is better suited to be an illustration of the species in an encyclopedia, since it shows both wings and provides a more complete view of the butterfly itself. I think it should be moved back to its place as the primary image in the article. (On the other hand, I really admire Ivar's alternative photo, because photos of lepidoptera are almost always of single individuals. This is an unusual and very striking image of two individuals, and I think it was right to be featured at the Commons.) Choliamb (talk) 15:22, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
