- Comment Whatever he's looking at, it isn't the camera. Charlesjsharp (talk) 17:42, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- Charlesjsharp, I think he is looking at the camera. I think he has a slight esotropia. (If you cover one eye at a time with your finger you will notice both eyes are separately looking at you but they point in slightly different directions.) His other portrait is worse (where he is looking completely in a different direction) also shows that he has esotropia. Surprising for an astronaut! For en.wiki, this photo is the best option for the lead image. He is now 76 years old and this photo was taken when he was 50. I think this photo is the best representation we have of the subject. --- Coffeeandcrumbs 18:02, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- As you say, surprising for an astronaut. Charlesjsharp (talk) 18:17, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- Over the past few hours, I have looked at dozens of photos of Bluford. Every one them shows similar characteristic in his eyes, very pronounced in some photos. However, I cannot locate RS to verify a diagnosis. --- Coffeeandcrumbs 22:00, 30 July 2019 (UTC)

- Support. The esotropia isn't flattering but if that's what he looks like it's what he looks like; it's not a flaw in the photo. —David Eppstein (talk) 07:01, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
