Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of drafted Frölunda HC players/archive1
Appearance
This is a self-nomination, I'm nominating it since I believe it meets the featured list criteria and I hope that it will set the standard for player lists at the Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey.
I've been told that the red links at the bottom of the list could be an issue. So I'd just like to clarify that only players that are notable should have articles on Wikipedia. These red linked players, with the exception of Nyström and Svensk, were drafted quite recently and all of them are currently playing junior hockey or minor league hockey. Many of them will probably be playing at professional level soon and then their articles will be created. Krm500 22:44, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- My 2 cents, I was looking at this list just the other day; I admit that it is well-done, but I have this vague feeling that the topic is a little too trivial for such a fancy list. This information might be better presented as a paragraph in the club article, along the lines of "the following players have been drafted into the NHL: Example Hypotheticalson (1985)," (etc). But then again, I'm not a sports fan. --Brianyoumans 22:23, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- Trival for some but my view is that it's useful for hockey fans since it provides a good overview how good or bad a team is on developing players. Is there is anything I can do to make it more comprehensive and improve the standard? Krm500 00:00, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose It is really just a verbatim copy of its single reference, with wikilinks. That isn't IMO enought to count as Wikipedia's "best work". What if you expanded it to List of drafted Sweedish Elitserien players and had a section per team? If you can't find a source for the other teams, that might be a clue as to how important these stats are perceived to be. I can't really judge if Frölunda HC is good at developing players if I can't compare with any others. Colin°Talk 23:05, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- All Elitserien team would not be easy, but I could expand the article with other drafts. Is there anyting else that can be improved, not regarding the content but the list/article construction in generall? A few more images would probably be good but they don't exist on WP and I can't create them by my self at the moment. --Krm500 01:48, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
