Lagaan is one of the most influential film ever produced by Indian cinema. It won several awards and nomination. I am nominating this for featured list because I feel the list meets the criteria and provides a sourced and well-written listing of it's award list. All kind of comments are welcomed.   • Is there a reliable source stating that No Man's Land won the Academy Award? If yes, add it.
  • "At the 49th National Film Awards, the film won a total of eight awards, including Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment." — including the
  • "It also won eight awards at the 47th Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director and..." — including the ones for. Ditto for Screen Awards.
  • Break the third paragraph into two, the fourth should start from Channel 4.

Looks like a decent list, but there are significant problems with prose.

  • Yashpal Sharma, Raghubir Yadav, British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne play supporting roles This doesn't make sense. The words "British actors" make the sentence ungrammatical and, to my mind, add little useful meaning.
  • Set in the Victorian period of India's colonial British Raj, Lagaan revolves around a small village whose inhabitants, oppressed by high taxes, find themselves challenged by an arrogant officer in a Cricket match, as a wager to avoid the taxes. This is not an elegant sentence. I suggest Lagaan is set in India in 1893, during the British Raj. The film tells the story of a small village whose inhabitants are oppressed by high taxes. They are challenged to a cricket match by an arrogant officer as a wager to avoid the taxes.
  • Made on a budget of ₹250 million (US$3.0 million), Lagaan was released on 15 June 2001, and was commercially successful grossing over ₹1.3 billion (US$16 million) globally. It's a colon, needed because there are two separate independent clauses. You could make the second one a subordinate clause ("was commercially successful, grossing over..."). This is common and you do it a lot. I think, however, it makes the sentence harder to understand. To make your writing as clear as possible, I suggest you minimise your use of subordinate clauses.   • The film garnered awards and nominations in several categories, in both India and international; with particular praise for its direction, performances and landscapes. This is another poor bit of phrasing. First "garner" is journalese (particularly prominent in Indian film articles, for some reason). Second, "in international" doesn't make sense. Finally, the subclause needs a comma not a semicolon. The film received nominations and awards in several categories both in India and internationally. There was particular praise for its direction, performances and landscapes. You may also consider "acting" rather than "performances".
  • But it lost to the Bosnian film No Man's Land. Don't start sentences with "but" in encyclopaedia articles.
  • At the 49th National Film Awards Can you clarify that these are Indian national awards?
  • including the ones for Best Film, Best Director and Best Story for Gowariker and Best Actor for Khan This could be better phrased. including the Best Film, Best Director and Best Story awards for Gowariker and the Best Actor award for Khan

  • Could you write the translation of the film's title just like here.
  • "Lagaan is set in India in 1893, during the British Raj." – did we forget to italicize the title of the film?
  • "and was commercially successful:" is simply redundant as the worldwide gross and budget are already written. And since the amount of the gross is greater than budget, it automatically indicates that the film was a commercial success.
  • The two last sentences of the second para can be merged.
  • "Lagaan was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 74th Academy Awards"
  • The third sentence of third paragraph has too many "awards".
  • The third paragraph has used the word "including" four times.
  • Link CNN-IBN in reference 14.
  • De-italicize Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in source 15.
  • Reference 28 does not list all of the recipients and nominees added in the list.

I have based this list on other indian film FL's , and they don't have such sorts.
