  • "It was originally played as a demonstration sport in seven Summer Olympics" no need to repeat Summer (per the previous sentence)
  • I'm pretty sure we have a link for demonstration sport somewhere...
  • "first five appearances" not keen on appearances, maybe "first five Games"?
  • Does the removal of baseball from the roster have a ref or is it derived from the fact that it just isn't in 2012? Ahh, looks like current ref 7 two paras down works for this...
  • "the first ever official " don't need "ever"
  • 62-1 should use an en-dash. And is there a link for the world championships which Cuba won?
  • "reigning gold medalist American team" instead of gold medalist, why not just champions?

  • Support nicely done, and dare I say (without descending into a well of sycophancy) this FLC, as with most of Stax's, has been a pleasure to review i.e. I just nitpick and be a typical Brit knowing nothing about baseball while my comments are treated with respect.   • Looks good, thanks for polishing off this list! I've added my name to the nomination since I added all the names to this list back in August 2006. The only problem I see is with the sports-reference.com references, as they don't follow the format that SR.com request of us (see [2]). We created the {{cite sports-reference}} template to help with that. Also, it might be a good idea to use the official reports as references (at least for the four Games in which they are available). See references #33–36 of List of participating nations at the Summer Olympic Games for the 1992–2004 reports; I've already figured out all the correct {{cite book}} parameters but you'll need to find the correct page numbers.   • The official reports are listed as a general reference. As large-PDFs that really just repeat information at the various other sources I figured better to use Sports Reference for the inline refs (so someone can easily and quickly see the information).     Ah, you know what, I just saw that the template is for athlete bios only, since it hardcodes the "Biography and Olympic Results" part of the page name. But you can still use:

  • "These exhibitions featured a single game at the first five Games..." — game... Games. Perhaps replace with "Olympics"?
  • Doubt: "...more than any other sport..." or "... more than for any other sport..."?
  • There are several instances of "games" which should be capitalized as they refer to the Olympics.
  • "Despite Cuban pitcher Rolando Arrojo defecting ten days prior to the start of the games Cuba again went undefeated..." — add a comma just after "games".
  • You wikilinked pretty much every occurance of "year season Olympics" except for 1996.
  • "The United States won their second consecutive medal in Sydney, winning gold with Cuba taking the silver." — won... winning. How about "The United States won their second consecutive medal in Sydney, securing the gold medal in a 4–0 victory over Cuba in the final."?
  • "In 2004..." and "In 2005..." — Add a comma after the year.
  • "The Cuban team won their second silver medal in 2008 and are thus the only team to have won either gold or silver in baseball in at every Summer Olympics in which it was contested."
  • "...winning four medals-two gold and two silver-from 1996 to 2008." — change hyphens for unspaced em-dashes.
  • "Of the 25 athletes who medaled twice in baseball 18 were Cuban, with 4 South Korean and 3 Japanese players comprising the remaining 7." — Looks weird starting a sentence with "of". Else, the MoS does not say anything against this, but I think it would be better to spell-out the numbers (you only need one word for each number).
  • You need to update the link address for the IOC results database.
  • Specific ref #4 does not have a retrieval date.
  • Suggestion: display the specific references in two columns. It removes excessive blank space and, well, looks better.
  • There are three refs, and 3 refs packed into a column just looks ugly (or trying to fit three columns just for refs breaks it apart). And what do you mean excessive whitespace?   • Concerning alt text, you need to add the |alt= blank parameter to both baseball pictogram and IBAF world map images, so that a screen reader considers them as "decorative" and does not read them.

  • With a pair of fresh eyes, I made some copy-editing on the lead section, fixing some things that missed me from the first time. One thing I now notice: is it really necessary to have such a huge paragraph on the removal of baseball from the Olympic program? That historical info fits better on Baseball at the Summer Olympics. I think you could summarize it by leaving only the first sentence, the info on the 2008 tournament still being held, and the confirmation on the non-selection of baseball for 2016.
