I am nominating the 2009 Oscars for featured list because I believe it has great potential to become a Featured List. I read the requirements and criteria. *The second paragraph (On February 7, 2009,...) is too short (at least in my computer I see a line and two words). It should be expanded or merged.
  • "The telecast attracted nearly 37 million viewers (in North America)." -> The paragraphs are not needed.
  • "followed by Slumdog Millionaire with ten. [12]" -> " ten.[12]"
  • "curiosity the the awards," -> typo
  • "Gabriel still attended the ceremony. John Legend performed the song in place of Gabriel, backed by the Soweto Gospel Choir" -> Not necessary but I'd reword it as "Gabriel still attended the ceremony but John Legend, backed by the Soweto Gospel Choir, performed the song in place of Gabriel."
  • "previous year's ceremony" -> Link it
  • Ref 49 "The Los Angeles Time" -> Los Angeles Time, per consistency.
  • Box Office Mojo should not be in italics

  • Once you abbreviate AMPAS, use it.
  • No need to make Oscars bold.
  • "The ceremony was televised in the United States by ABC. Actor Hugh Jackman hosted the ceremony for the first time" consider merging to avoid repetition and short sentences.
  • "and WALL-E with one" full stop required.
  • Is the Jess Cagle in the infobox (who isn't linked) the same as Jess Cagle?
  • All the nominees were announced in a single minute (at 5:38 a.m?) Do we really need such precision? I would imagine the day would suffice, the nearest minute seems irrelevant to me.

  • Normally don't use WP:BOLD to depict something, it may be hard for accessibility. We often use a symbol to denote winners (as well as colour or some other more visual cue), but perhaps here it's not so bad because you've said the winner is denoted first.
  • The image captions could use a bit of expansion, e.g. what they won their awards for.
  • Where is Jerry Lewis' award cited?
  • "Three: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (film)|The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" format problem here.
  • Per WP:COLLAPSE should you really be collapsing those tables automatically?
  • "12.43 rating over a 32.61 share among the 18–49 demographic" means nothing to people outside the US, please link or explain.
  • Chicago Sun Times is Chicago Sun-Times.
  • Huffington Post is The Huffington Post.
  • Consistency in references with author names, is it First name Surname or Surname, First name?
  • Typo in ref 44.

Fixed: I have fixed almost everything with some notations
  • Format is surname first, then first name.
  • Wikilinked Nielsen ratings which has an explanations on ratings and shares.
  • I think the bold lettering for the winners works because on my iPod touch which does not indent the winner making it seem like no winner is denoted.

Comments –
  • Winners and nominees: No need for two Slumdog Millionaire links in the written section.
  • Per the Manual of Style, we aren't supposed to be highlighting table entries in bold. Perhaps it would be possible to only have the winners be italicized? That seems like the easiest possible fix that retains highlighting in some form.
  • Multiple nominations and awards: The Dutchess should have its link piped so the parenthetical part (which isn't part of the title) doesn't show up.
  • In Memoriam: Should the first word of "in Memoriam" be capitalized? Also, the comma after "tribute" should be removed.
  • See also: The first link isn't needed, since the 2008 in film article is linked in the lead.
  • Note A: Commas needed after "daughter", and before and after "actress Michelle Williams". Giants2008 (Talk) 22:41, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
