I am nominating the 2000 Oscars for featured list because I believe it has great potential to become a Featured List. I read the requirements and criteria. I also followed how the 1929, 2009, 2010, 2012 Oscars were written. I am still making more updates and changes currently.Birdienest81 (talk) 16:01, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Fixed: I integrated the sections mentioning the missing ballots and stolen Oscars into the Ceremony information. I believe they are still worth mentioning because they happened in the course of the production of the ceremony. As for the Whitney Houston debacle, I removed it because I felt it was more appropriate in the eponymous singer's article.

    * Oppose just because this has so many supports and I found a number of issues..
    • "During the ceremony, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented" you've already abbreviated AMPAS, so use it.
    • "and last hosted the 70th ceremony" -> "and had last..." as he may have hosted it since.
    • Suggest linking Nielsen ratings in the infobox.
    • "Films receiving the most nominations were American Beauty with " -> "American Beauty received the most nominations..."
    • "Award for his directorial debut" I'd say "on" rather than "for".
    • Caravan links to Himalaya (film), why aren't we calling it Himalaya?
    • "Solomon and Gaenor" replace the "and" with an ampersand.
    • Check whole article for en-dash usage (per WP:DASH).
    • Why is Host in bold?
    • "high-definition" is a dab link.
    • "Food-4-Less" isn't hyphenated.
    • "from each other.[40][37]" numerical order for refs please.
    • Ref 33 and 34 are identical, check others.
    • Check ref titles for en-dash infringements.
    • Baltimore Sun is The Baltimore Sun.

    • Fixed: I have fixed most problems with some notations/coments/questions
    • Per se WP:DASH rules. The winners table looks fine with the en dashes (according to Rule 4: separating list items)
    • References 33 and 34 were on the same page. However, they were pointing to two different facts that so happened to be on the same page. Nevertheless, I changed the references to avoid further confusion.
    • For the ref-tiles, many of the articles' title were written that way on the website itself. Should it be changed, and how?
