I am nominating this for featured article because I have created it from scratch but I feel as if I have taken it as far as I can now, and the time seems right to give FA status a try. John Smith's Brewery is an important page because it is the highest selling ale in the world, and one of the UK's highest selling beers. Farrtj (talk) 13:49, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. Farrtj, you recently nominated Stones Brewery at FAC, and three users pointed out that the references were sloppy and (for the most part) unverifiable. Very little effort was made to address the issue, and the FAC quickly failed--for the second time, I might add, and for the same reasons as the first attempt. Now you've nominated a different brewery article that has the exact same problems. Tell me: why do you think this FAC should pass when the others failed? --Cryptic C62 · Talk 00:25, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: looks like a lot of cleanup is needed here. I suggest that you withdraw this and undergo a peer review before renominating.
- Pictures should have captions.
- You really should add full reference information to the bare urls.
- Some of the prose is a bit messy, "In 1847 the 23 year old John Smith bought a small, run-down brewery in Tadcaster from the widow of the grandson of Hartley of Backhouse & Hartley that dated from 1758." Mark Arsten (talk) 02:15, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
