- Ding Jinhao engraving scandal (filter log)
- Description
- I stumbled upon this page and saw that the way it was written made it hard to read. I tried to make it slightly more approachable and edited the section under "Processing" but it I received the text "An automated filter has identified this edit as potentially unconstructive, and it has been disallowed. If this edit is constructive, please report this error." The only changes I made to the article were grammatical changes so I can see why it may not be completely constructive in terms of content, but I think that making things easier to read is quite constructive. If the way I've edited it is not up to the standards, please get a normal wiki-contributor to fix that page up. Thanks.

The following edits are the ones in question: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5; #1 adds a chunk of text, but I don't see anything that would set off the filter, while #2-#4 just change a little punctuation and #5 adds a link. - Description
- Continuum became a hit quickly with Canadian audiences. The series was also connecting with the country's television arts organizations who give out awards for a living. On January 15, 2013, the day after the U.S. launch, the Canadian Screen Awards (now one group in the aftermath of the merger of the Genie and Gemini Awards) nominated Continuum for 5 'Screenies'; Best Drama Series, Writing, Direction, Music and Visual Effects (its lone win).
On February 20, 2013, Continuum was cited by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror (“Saturn Awards”) for Best Television Presentation. This category represents the best TV show of 10 episodes or fewer. There was a special circumstance here; the Saturns' eligibility period is always every calendar year (from 1/1 to 12/31). Since Continuum didn't debut in the U.S. until 2 weeks afterward, an exception was made to include it in the TV Presentation lineup. It lost, however to Breaking Bad on June 26.
It was followed later that week by a nomination for the season 1 finale from the Writers Guild of Canada, only to be upset April 23 losing to 'The L.A. Complex'. On the morning of May 13, the most vivid proof yet Continuum had arrived as one of North America's best TV series, period, took shape.
The show was showered with an all-time record 16 Leo Award nominations. [1] The Leo's are from the Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Foundation of British Columbia. It would have been closer to 20 or 21 if the Leos didn't have in their rules that only BC residents qualified for consideration. The awards were handed out June 6 and 7th, as Continuum beat back challenges from The CW's 'Arrow', and moreso by CBC's 'Arctic Air', which trailed behind with 14 Leo notices. Here is a list of Continuum's nominations with winners noted and the episodes that they were cited for:
Best Dramatic Series (winner)
Best Direction: William Waring, Family Time (winner)
Best Direction: Patrick Williams, Endtimes
Best Screenwriting: Simon Barry, Endtimes (winner)
Best Cinematography: David Pelletier, Endtimes
Best Editing: Allison Grace, Family Time (winner)
Best Editing: Allan Lee, Endtimes
Best Production Design: Chris August, Endtimes
Best Costume Design: Maya Mani, A Stitch In Time (winner)
Best Stunt Coordination: Kimani Ray Smith, Wasting Time
Best Male Guest Performance: Jesse Moss, Matter of Time
Best Male Guest Performance: Ian Tracey, Endtimes (winner)
Best Supporting Actor: Richard Harmon, Family Time (winner)
Best Supporting Actor: Brian Markinson, Endtimes
Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Spence, Playtime
Best Supporting Actress: Lexa Doig, Endtimes
On March 9, the Canadian equivalent to the Saturns, the Constellation Awards, now 7 years old, further validated the show's quality, nominating it for 4 awards and ultimately, on June 22, winning 3: Best Sci-Fi TV Series, Best Sci-Fi Film or TV Script, and the first-ever acting award of any kind for Rachel Nichols (Best Female Performance in a Sci-Fi TV Episode). For the entry on Kay Granger, someone added a factually true statement that she voted on July 24th, 2013 to continue NSA funding of surveillance of U.S. citizens who are not suspected of committing any crime. Then someone else erroneously REMOVED that note. I felt that was a mistake, so I went to undo it. My undo included the message "This was factually correct and neutral. Reword it if you want, but don't just delete it." But my undo was AUTOMATICALLY FILTERED OUT. Which led to me here posting about this false positive.

- another user had added a link to one of my Flickr photos of the mountain in the External Links section (Nilgiri South daytime). They had used a link that takes you to the Flickr page which include links to your photo in different sizes (see the link used for Nilgiri South at night). I changed the link to take the user to the normal Flickr photo page which has narrative and tags etc.

- It's simply warning that you're adding or editing a link which contains your username. This may well be valid sometimes, but of course we have the problem of users trying to link to their own blogs, etc, as sources. Black Kite (talk) 12:24, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

- Some code ended up in the edit that you didn't intend to have there, probably as a result of copying and pasting (or some other issue) with Visual Editor. If you want to make the change, I recommend you use the regular editor, though since you have a conflict of interest, you should consider posting what you want to do on the talk page instead of doing it yourself. Also, ADA is a disambiguation page. You should specify the exact name instead of using it. Jackmcbarn (talk) 16:05, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

- Al-Bassa (filter log)
- Description
- Simply present the entire story. The description of events in the article terribly misleading and filled with nothing but half-truths. The article is clearly "taking sides" by presenting an awfully incomplete account of what actually went on.
Example: "Al-Bassa was situated in the territory allotted to the Arab state. It was then captured by Israeli forces."
Not quite.
The village wasn't captured in some totally unprovoked Israeli offensive into lands allotted to the Arabs as the editors would have the reader believe. Quite the opposite. The Jews accepted such allotment. The ARABS rejected it, and began attacking JEWISH villages in territory allotted to JEWS.
The village was only captured in an Israeli COUNTER-OFFENSIVE, to put an end to the Arab attacks.
Allow me to quote the Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel, proclaimed on THE VERY SAME DAY that the village was captured:
"WE APPEAL - in the very midst of the onslaught launched against us now for months - to the Arab inhabitants of the State of Israel to preserve peace and participate in the upbuilding of the State on the basis of full and equal citizenship and due representation in all its provisional and permanent institutions."
Israel wanted peace. The Arabs wanted Israel destroyed.
Just half a decade earlier, the Jews didn't fight back when they were being ethnically cleansed from Europe. Violence was simply too foreign to Jewish Culture.
Now, a mere 3-4 years later, it was the Palestinians attempting the cleansing.
Only this time they realized that much as they wish they didn't have to, yet again given no other choice, this time they forced themselves to fight back.
"We can forgive you for killing our sons. But we will never forgive you for making us kill yours." - Golda Meir, to Anwar Saddat.
This article, indeed this entire "family" of articles is stuffed to the gills with antisemitic lies and it just plain sickens me.
Now watch this "Zero" person revert my edit that did nothing but attach a simple general time period to the otherwise mysterious and confusing "Early Arab Period"...just to clarify the chronology of events for the reader, who might otherwise be left wondering "just when exactly was this "Early Arab Period"? 1000 BCE? Just when exactly was it?
The answer is clear: Sometime during the mid 7th century.
But Zero doesn't seem to want the readers to know that. That would mean that the Palestinians haven't lived in Palestine since the beginning of time. It would also mean they got their a great deal later than the Jews. And how do we know Jews lived centuries, even millennia, before the Arab's late arrival? Jesus, for one. Jesus was a Jew, no? And his apostles, and the Pharisees, and King Herod, and John the Baptist, and all those supposedly calling for his crucifixion...all Jews. GOVERNED by the Romans, true, but INHABITED pretty much exclusively by Jews.
Yet this is referred to as "The Roman Period". Apparently their never existed any "Jewish Period", a period that existed LONG BEFORE the first Arab stepped on "Palestinian" soil. Or at least many like ZERO would like the word to believe that.
Thing is, it just ain't true!
Still, just you wait and watch her remove my simple "dating" of the "Early Arab Period".

- You have to be logged in as Monica.gambhir to do that. It really doesn't matter, though, since the page is about to get deleted (see Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Monica.gambhir). Jackmcbarn (talk) 12:49, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

- Yes, it's a false positive. I'll add it for you. Once you've been around for a while, you'll be able to add those kinds of things yourself. Jackmcbarn (talk) 01:49, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

- That filter must be based on edit count rather than on being (auto)confirmed. I can't see the exact statistics, since I'm not an EFM. Once you've used the mobile account enough, it should start to work. Jackmcbarn (talk) 02:56, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- I seem to remember someone saying that this would not happen to a confirmed account so I gave KudpungMobile confirmed status myself. No worries however, I don't have to use my mobile account very often so it is nothing important. --KudpungMobile (talk) 03:09, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, that was me. Unfortunately, that filter's description lies, and that's all I have to work with. I've requested that it be corrected here. Jackmcbarn (talk) 03:18, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

- No, the article is a list of characters. This "lore" has to stay out of it.--Jasper Deng (talk) 22:46, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
