En Derin - Hip Hop musician
[edit]I created a page for new Hip Hop artist En Derin in the Article Incubator. Some possible notable points: appeared on TV and radio in Cyprus, in top 10 of Hip Hop global chart from ReverbNation, and released first single with Island Def Jam records. See the talk page for details. Think it is ready for main space? Eclipsed ¤ 15:29, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
- If you add those points of notability and reference them, your article will be good to go. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:13, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I think the page is ready to go to mainspace, and continue work there. But someone who hasn't edited the page should be the one to actually click 'Move to mainspace' in the pages toolbox :) Eclipsed ¤ 14:00, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- En Derin Article has now graduated to mainspace. Further expansion/cleanup is ongoing. Eclipsed ¤ 11:46, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Step Forward Marketing
[edit]Step forward is a Social/Media Marketing company based in Cornwall, UK.
I've written the following at User:Samtar/Step_Forward_Marketing#Step_Forward_Marketing
"Step Forward was founded in 2001 at Mullion School , Cornwall, UK. It was primarily run by young people based at the school. In 2008, Step Forward became involved with Red Nose Day, and marketed the whole event process."
You can read a source here [1]
More here [2]
If anyone can go here and help out, I would be very thankful :)
Just a side note, it would be better if someone else wrote all this, as I am currently the director of the company, and it would be obviously very hard to write without a POV. Samuel Tarling (talk) 00:34, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- In this case WP:COI is a real possibility. Marketing companies are always dubious on Wikipedia, because they are good at making themselves look good and important, when perhaps they are not notable. We need some more independent material about the topic, rather than what you know! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:08, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Poly Chain® GT® Carbon™ belt drive system
[edit]I wanted to add a simple entry about this synchronous belt drive system from Gates Corporation. Something like, "The Poly Chain® GT® Carbon™ belt drive system is a system from Gates Corporation that uses synchronous belt technology to power industrial applications. Engineers who design power transmission or motion control systems use it as an alternative to chain drives and gear systems." It's already been deleted. Any thoughts on why this would be tagged as (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion) when, say, many Volvo engines have a place within Wikipedia? Co engin (talk) 04:13, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- Using ® and ™ makes it look like a press release. You will fare better if you don't use them at all. Your text sounds OK to me, but you will need two references that show others have written about the topic. You will also have to explain how it differs from other synchronous belt drive systems so that it deserves its own article rather than being merged.
