Prior to a discussion at the Village Pump that was closed in December 2014, requests for comment on user conduct (RfC/Us) were used to discuss the problematic behaviour of specific Wikipedia editors, as part of the dispute resolution process. RfC/Us were an informal, non-binding process. According to the discussion's closing statement, many editors found the RfC/U process ineffectual. As a result, it was closed down on 7 December 2014.
Please read before requesting a user RfC
Request for comment/User conduct (RfC/U) is a process or early step in the Wikipedia dispute resolution process. It is an informal non-binding process enabling users to discuss problems with specific editors who may have violated Wikipedia policies and guidelines.
Dispute resolution requests provides a central compilation and easy-access overview of noticeboards for dispute resolution, and details the various different methods used at each of the Wikipedia dispute resolution pages.
All content and conduct issues should be discussed first at the talk page of the relevant article or user before requesting dispute resolution.
Apply to the Arbitration Committee for an examination and binding decision regarding a long-standing issue of misconduct after all other avenues of dispute resolution have been exhausted.
