Wikipedia:Cleanup Taskforce/Sylvia Plath
Messy, more info in the trivia than in the work sections, of vastly varying quality, significant info omitted and some irrelevant stuff included, often subjective; many unsubstantiated claims re: critical opinion etc. I'm willing to help if someone takes this up, but tinkering on my own will take too long, it needs an experienced eye to decide format etc. High Heels on Wet Pavement 22:15, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the trivia section as too long and too trivial. RJFJR 02:31, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- I've been working on Sylvia (as have a few others), and she's improving. The article still lacks pin-point references. There is a lot of stuff written about Sylvia (most of the important ones are listed), but I don't have any of them. If I did, I would spend the time finding specific factual references. --Evb-wiki 16:06, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Closing project. Looks much better. RJFJR 03:21, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
I added something to the "Death" section that was approved by Evb-wiki and rewritten by Evb-wiki, or someone. I left the change as written by Evb-wiki, but then noted later that someone had reinstated the change as I had written it earlier. Then, I went back later and someone had changed it back to Evb-wiki's! So...I changed it back to my wording, as it is more precise: my phrase says, "...suicide in 1969 of Assia Wevill, the woman he left Plath for..." which is more precise than merely saying "the death of his mistress, Assia Wevill." I also think "mistress" is old-fashioned and inaccurate, as Wevill was no longer his mistress after Plath's death, but merely his girlfriend. --Marniestarr
- You do realize, of course, that you can check the entire edit history by clicking the "history" tab at the top of the article's page. It will tell you when the page was edited and by whom, as well as any edit summaries provided. --Evb-wiki 02:44, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, and since this cleanup project was closed on March 24 (see above), this discussion should be on Talk:Sylvia Plath. --Evb-wiki 02:48, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
